Reliability Study of BEV Powertrain System and Its Components—A Case Study

The powertrain system is critical to the reliability of a battery electric vehicle (BEV). However, BEV complex system; it includes motor, motor controller, power distribution unit, system, etc. failure any these components may result in entire and eventually cause serious traffic accidents on road. how much does each component affect which are most vulnerable system? These questions still unanswered today. To develop design for essential conduct detailed research by investigating parts powertrain. In present study, fault-tree model its subsystems was developed. Based this model, rates all were calculated first. Then, trends indices estimated against service life. From estimation results, we learned that with increased time, indeed lower than individual subsystems. Moreover, through comparative research, found module unreliable not only but system. Additionally, interesting find higher other subsystem components, highest among studied paper. We believe findings study will be great significance an improved understanding maintenance BEVs.
